Piece Hostel Sanjo

Have stayed here before - it’s an amazing location in the lively Sanjo neighbourhood. Staff are super helpful & courteous . Rooms are compact but minimal black & white chic and very comfortable beds etc . Nice toiletries in shower. Usefully they have two coin operated laundries and lockers for luggage. They also now have a breakfast offer ( though I didn’t get to try it this time). Can’t really fault it in terms or value / location.

Centered in the heart of kyoto made piece hostel sanjo a perfect sanctuary to come back to after our sightseeing, hiking, etc. It was immaculately clean and comfortable and offered a basement community area where we would eat and do our studies. They also provide on site laundry facilities that were well kept and made life easier.

It was extremely close to the market and the train station. I don't think I could've picked a better location. The entire staff was helpful, even the ones that weren't very fluent in English did their best! There was also many things available around the facility to use and was very user friendly. I would recommend to ANYONE visiting Kyoto.

My stay at Piece Hostel Sanjo in Kyoto was absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-located, comfortable, and friendly place to stay. The location is a major selling point. The hostel is incredibly handy for exploring the city, situated within easy walking distance of several key areas. The nearest stations are just a short walk away, making it easy to get around Kyoto and beyond. We loved being able to walk to the famous Nishiki Market for food and shopping, and the vibrant Kawaramachi shopping street was also right on our doorstep. The hostel itself is modern and very well-maintained. The common areas, including a great lounge and a shared kitchen, were clean and offered a wonderful space to relax and meet fellow travelers. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and it's clear they put a lot of effort into creating a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, Piece Hostel Sanjo is a great choice. Its combination of a prime location, excellent facilities, and a great social vibe makes it the ideal base for any trip to Kyoto.

We stayed in the private room part of this hostel, and I was very surprised by how nice it was. Throughout my 20s and 30s I stayed almost entirely in hostel dorms (my wife won't allow it now), and if I came across this place when I first hit Kyoto in my 20s I would have been amazed. This place has one of the best shared kitchen areas I've come across in any hostel I've stayed at. There's a roof bar, and the main building seems to have a lot of facilities. Our room was really nice, and my wife - who was very dubious about staying in a hostel - was pleasantly surprised. The location is also perfect, with a main shopping area being only 10-15 minutes away on foot.
